yea, I half agree...the good stuff is REALLY good, the other, eh. But this footage is so rocking...you should see the rest of the film it is from. cool shit, indeed.
Such amazing rockin'. And Greg was balding in '83! Though that didn't effect his gtr playing one iota.
Wow, that's the earliest Wipers footage I've seen yet..I was three years old when that was filmed but I can say that many of my generation dig the Wipers and still know great music when they hear it.
It's strange that bands like this (not to mention Big Black, No Means No, etc) never got a mention in the "American Hardcore" movie when it is these bands who carried the attitude and music to new levels instead of playing shitty metal and becoming what they hated in the first place. Not to offend anybody, but SSD and DYS weren't anything special yet still manage to entice brand new jocks every year who used to be my enemies in high school. Now that's a shitty legacy to live with...
